INEC SCHEDULES MOCK ACCREDITATION FOR NOVEMBER 6 IN ONDO STATE

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it will conduct a mock accreditation in Ondo State on November 6, 2024, as part of its preparations for the upcoming governorship election. This was revealed by Sam Olumekun, INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, in a statement issued in Abuja.

The mock exercise aims to test the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the uploading of results to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal using live voters. It will be conducted in 12 designated polling units spread across six local government areas, representing all three senatorial districts in the state.

The selected locations for the exercise include:

  • Ondo Central Senatorial District: Akure South and Idanre LGAs
    • Akure South: Alagbaka Primary School and Ijapo High School
    • Idanre: Our Saviour Primary School, Aiyetoro/Owena I, and Open Space in front of Plot 6, Owena
  • Ondo North Senatorial District: Owo and Akoko South-West LGAs
    • Owo: Methodist Primary School, Fajuyi Road, and Imade College Gate, Ajaka Street I
    • Akoko South-West: Open Space at Ago Ajayi, Oba, and L.A. Primary School, Oba
  • Ondo South Senatorial District: Odigbo and Okitipupa LGAs

The mock accreditation will help ensure the effectiveness of the technology and the process ahead of the governorship election.
