The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that eligible voters in Ondo State will begin collecting their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) starting Thursday, October 17, 2024.

Key Details from INEC

Sam Olumekun, the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, shared this information in a statement released on Monday in Abuja.

He stated, “The Commission is pleased to announce that following the conclusion of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Ondo State and the cleaning up of the data, Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) have been printed for all certified registrants and already delivered to our State office in Akure for collection by eligible voters.”

Statistics on PVCs

A total of 89,777 new PVCs have been printed from the recent CVR, which includes:

  • 58,708 for new voters
  • 31,069 for applicants requesting transfers, updates, or replacements of lost or damaged cards.

Collection Process

PVCs will be available for collection in 221 centres across the state at two levels:

  1. Wards: From Thursday, October 17 to Monday, October 21, 2024 at all 203 Wards.
  2. Local Government Areas (LGA): From Wednesday, October 23 to Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 18 LGA offices from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily, including weekends.

During this period, registered voters can also collect backlogged uncollected PVCs from previous registrations.

Important Reminders

INEC urges all registered voters in the state to collect their PVCs in person, as no cards will be collected by proxy.

Detailed information, including the addresses of the Ward and LGA collection centres, has been uploaded to the INEC website and social media platforms. Additionally, the register of new voters for each centre will be displayed at designated locations, and the entire collection register will be available online to help voters identify their names and collection centres for a seamless PVC collection process.
