INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA VOW TO ELIMINATE ILLEGAL CRYSTAL METH OPERATIONS

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has pledged to identify and eradicate the producers and distributors of illicit crystal meth (mkpulu mmiri) in the Southeast. The group clarified that the violent crimes occurring in Orlu are unrelated to the Biafran struggle, asserting that drug dealers from South Africa have resumed operations in Igbo land to undermine local youth.

IPOB announced that its intelligence unit has uncovered approximately 10 factories producing dangerous drugs in Umuaka, Orlu, Imo State. They alleged that these operations are protected by the Nigerian and Imo State governments. In a statement from media and publicity secretary Comrade Emma Powerful, it was revealed that the drug factories were established by six individuals from Umuaka who returned from South Africa. These individuals reportedly own hotels and nightclubs in Owerri, where they distribute drugs across various states in Nigeria.

The group claimed that the military and police deployed in Orlu are complicit in these drug operations, suggesting that government officials either own or benefit from the drug businesses. IPOB has issued a warning to those involved in the production and distribution of mkpurummiri to cease operations immediately, stating they have identified those involved and will take measures to shut down their activities.

IPOB emphasized its mission to promote legitimate businesses in Biafra and called on Igbo citizens to unite against the drug cartel to safeguard their community. They urged the public to refrain from consuming or distributing mkpurummiri and to assist in reporting drug-related activities. The organization highlighted the destructive impact of illicit drugs on Igbo youth and condemned any governmental complicity in drug production as an attempt to weaken the community’s mental health.
