Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, has decided to refrain from commenting on the ongoing dispute with his brother, Peter Okoye, of the P-Square duo.
In a recent interview on the Afrobeats Podcast with Adesope Olajide, Paul expressed frustration with how his statements about the feud have been misinterpreted. “I’m going to say something and I’m sorry. I know it’s a show but I’d rather not say anything. I’m tired of this twisting of statements; you’re a fan of P-Square and it’s my family. So why would I say something now that would turn into something else? Let’s stick to Rudeboy,” he said.
This statement follows Paul’s revelation on August 1, 2024, about another split between the P-Square duo and Peter’s petition against him and their older brother, Jude Okoye, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Paul was subsequently cleared of any financial misappropriation.
Peter had responded to Paul’s public statements with an open letter, claiming that Paul’s comments undermined their joint legacy and his own contributions to the group. Peter also emphasized that he is not in competition with his twin. The public feud has sparked widespread reactions and prompted efforts for reconciliation, including a visit by politician Peter Obi to both brothers.
