Peter Okoye, one-half of the disbanded music group P-Square, has denied accusations that he is involved in his elder brother Jude Okoye’s ongoing legal troubles. The controversy started when Paul Okoye, Peter’s twin, accused him of trying to imprison their elder brother and former manager, Jude, who is currently facing charges from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In an interview on Friday, Paul vowed to fight for Jude’s release. However, Peter’s manager, Emem Kush, quickly responded to the accusations, clarifying that Peter has no involvement in the matter. She stated that Peter’s petition was solely against a company that had been receiving funds on his behalf, not Jude. Kush emphasized that the case is an EFCC investigation and suggested that any inquiries should be directed to the commission itself.
Jude Okoye was remanded in prison on Friday by the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, as he faces a N1.38 billion fraud charge brought by the EFCC. The situation has added to the ongoing tension between the Okoye brothers, which has only escalated in the wake of P-Square’s disbandment.
