Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck (real name Tochukwu Ojogwu) recently claimed that he turned down a significant amount of money during the build-up to the 2023 presidential elections, which was offered to him in exchange for campaigning against Labour Party candidate Peter Obi. The rapper made this revelation while addressing critics who believed he was asking for too much by requesting that Peter Obi promote his album, The Machine Is Coming, in return for his loyalty.

Odumodublvck defended his request, stating that promoting his album was a reasonable ask considering the personal sacrifice he made for Obi. He emphasized that he was not someone who typically sought favors, but felt justified in requesting this gesture of support due to his commitment to the former Anambra State governor’s campaign. On his X (formerly Twitter) account, he wrote, “Ask Abbas, I was offered money I had never seen to campaign against Mr Peter but I turned it down,” further asserting, “I sacrificed my life for this man.” He concluded with a message promoting his album, The Machine Is Coming.

This claim of turning down life-changing money adds to the rapper’s narrative of loyalty and sacrifice in the political sphere.
