Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has addressed and debunked accusations that she stole gold worth ₦90,000 from the market earlier this year.

In an interview with media personality Timi Agbaje, Anjorin strongly refuted the claims, asserting that the accusation was baseless and absurd. She highlighted the improbability of stealing such a small quantity of gold, emphasizing the value discrepancy: “We’re talking about ₦91,000 worth of gold when a gram of gold was ₦150,000. A gram of gold is less than a grain of rice—how could anyone steal something so minuscule?”

Anjorin expressed frustration over the allegations, stating, “I am a certified jewelry seller and fabric merchant. The idea that I would steal a tiny amount of gold is ridiculous. I am too straightforward and disciplined to be a thief.”

The allegations stemmed from a February 2024 incident captured in a viral video where Anjorin was accused of shoplifting. The video showed her attempting to avoid being recorded, which fueled the suspicion. However, Anjorin later claimed on social media that she was framed by an individual she referred to as “Shekpeteri.”

Anjorin’s response underscores her commitment to maintaining her integrity and professionalism amidst the controversy.
