TEKNO’S RESPONSE
In the late hours of August 20, 2024, Tekno took to his official Instagram account to clarify the situation. He posted a series of photos and videos, assuring fans of his good health and confirming that he is not in South Africa. He wrote, “Hey guys, I’m hale and hearty and not currently in South Africa. I hope whoever that was in the video is doing well and okay. Thank you, guys. Love you.”

Fans expressed their relief in Tekno’s comment section. One fan wrote, “Thank God, I feel better now,” while another questioned the source of the false news. MR EAZI’S REACTION
Earlier, Nigerian artist Mr Eazi also addressed the false reports, stating that Tekno was actually in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, not South Africa. He humorously remarked, “Lmao Tekno wey Malabo.”
CLARIFICATION FROM SOCIAL MEDIA
Further clarifying the situation, X users confirmed that the man in the viral video was not Tekno but Prezzo, a Kenyan rapper and former Big Brother Africa contestant. “You dey mind them! People go just dey spread fake news like bedspread. For the record, guys, that’s not Tekno. The person in that video is Prezzo from Kenya,” one user wrote. Another added, “This is an old video of a Kenyan rapper, Prezzo. Check YouTube u go see am. Not Tekno, please.”
The clarification has brought relief to fans and put the false rumors to rest.
