Houthi Militia Claims Drone Attack on Tel Aviv

The Iranian-backed Houthi militia announced on Thursday that it has launched another drone attack on the Israeli coastal city of Tel Aviv. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed that they intercepted a drone off the coast near the city, while another drone reportedly fell on open ground.

The drones, which the Houthis described as a new variant named “Jaffa,” traveled approximately 1,800 kilometers to reach their targets. Houthi military spokesman Yehya Saree first mentioned this drone model in July.

Air raid sirens were activated in Bat Yam, a city immediately south of Tel Aviv, although there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage following the attack. This incident follows a similar drone assault carried out by the Houthis in July, reflecting the ongoing tensions in the region and the militia’s capabilities to strike deep into Israeli territory.
