Heavy rainfall in the Ogbomoso area of Oyo State between Wednesday and Thursday morning has led to significant flooding, particularly affecting areas around the Ora River.
The Ora River, which runs through the eastern section of Ogbomoso, overflowed its banks due to the intense downpour, resulting in widespread flooding. The flooding has primarily impacted neighborhoods such as Isale Ora and Aduinin.
Notable destruction includes a Cherubim and Seraphim church building and a wooden store selling planks, both of which were completely submerged. Additional properties in the surrounding areas also suffered damage.
As of now, the state government has not responded to the incident. Residents in the affected areas are urgently seeking assistance to address the aftermath of the flooding. Residents are in dire need of support and relief efforts as they cope with the challenges posed by the flooding.
