Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has been widely praised for his administration’s impactful initiatives in the education sector, including free education and a student feeding program. The commendation came from the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa, which is collaborating with the state government on the African Peace Scholarship Project to enhance educational service delivery.
Speaking at the Kaduna State Government House, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, Project Director of the initiative, highlighted the state’s significant progress in education under Governor Sani’s leadership.
“Governor Sani is doing so much in the education sector that many are unaware of. The state provides free education from primary to secondary levels and operates a free feeding program for students, which encourages their pursuit of education,” Amafibe noted.
He emphasized the transformative impact of education, recognizing it as the key to unlocking opportunities and success for the future of Kaduna’s students.
The African Peace Scholarship Project, under the leadership of Dr. Fauziya Buhari, the Special Adviser to the Governor on the FeedMe Program, will involve inspecting educational facilities and ensuring the welfare of students.
Governor Sani’s efforts were recognized with the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa 2024 plaque for his contributions to peacebuilding and education. He is also scheduled to be a guest speaker at the 14th Peace Achievers International Conference and All White Gala Dinner and Awards Night in November 2024.
This recognition has sparked calls for other states and stakeholders in the education sector to emulate Kaduna’s model, highlighting the long-term benefits for peace and development.
