Since assuming office on May 29, 2023, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has made a firm commitment to advancing the state’s development by building on the successes of his predecessors.   1. Urban Renewal in Warri:
    • Oborevwori has prioritized urban renewal initiatives aimed at restoring Warri, known as the “Oil City,” to its former glory. He has overseen the transformation of several major roads, including the completion of:
      • Upper and Lower Erejuwa Roads
      • Gabriel Mabiaku Road
      • Esisi Road to Estate Roundabout with a spur to Nana College connecting Ajamimogha.
  2. Warri Township Stadium Rehabilitation:
    • After assessing the project site for the rehabilitation of the Warri Township Stadium, Oborevwori determined that the original contractors were not meeting project specifications. He reassigned the project to Julius Berger Plc, ensuring timely and quality completion.
  3. Trans-Warri Road and Bridges:
    • Oborevwori and Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri Kingdom, inaugurated the Trans-Warri Road and bridges, marking a significant infrastructural development that improves connectivity to Ode-Itsekiri, the traditional headquarters of the Iwere nation.
  4. Education Sector Improvements:
    • In the Isoko nation, the governor inaugurated several projects at the Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro, including:
      • A new administrative building
      • Living quarters for principal officers
      • Internal roads within the university.
    • He also announced the establishment of a College of Health Technology in Ovrode, Isoko North Local Government Area.
  5. Road Construction Projects:
    • Oborevwori has launched various road construction projects, including:
      • Enwhe-Olomoro Road
      • Enhwe Internal Roads
      • The ongoing Enhwe – Uwheru Road reconstruction.
    • The 24 km Isoko ring road project is also in progress, connecting several communities in Isoko North and Isoko South Local Government Areas.
  6. Ughelli-Asaba Expressway:
    • Significant progress has been made on the Isoko section of the Ughelli-Asaba Expressway. Oborevwori has ensured that the project remains on track by facilitating prompt payments to contractors, allowing for uninterrupted work throughout the year.
