Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has assured that his state is well-prepared to handle any potential political conflicts, referring to the recent threat by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Wike had warned PDP governors not to interfere in Rivers State’s affairs, hinting at possible repercussions for those who do.
In a statement during a visit from the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) in Bauchi, Mohammed addressed Wike’s comments, emphasizing that Bauchi is stable and resilient. He stated, “We have volumes of water that will quench the fire. Even my friend Wike, who made the threat, is acting out of frustration, but it’s not personal.”
Mohammed underscored the unity within the PDP and highlighted the party’s historical contributions to national development. He called for adherence to party rules and respect for diversity, asserting that the PDP has always played a pivotal role in the country’s progress.
The visit by the PDP NWC was framed as a demonstration of solidarity and a commitment to resolving internal party issues while upholding democratic values. Kamaldeen Adeyemi, the party’s Legal Adviser, noted that their presence was to show support for Governor Mohammed and reinforce party unity.
