Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) on its victory in Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State.
Aiyedatiwa, who served as Chairman of the APC’s Election Planning and Strategy Committee for the Edo election, also congratulated the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, for their success as governor-elect and deputy governor-elect.
In a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, in Akure, the state capital, Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the people of Edo State for placing their trust in the APC.
He stated, “I want to congratulate our party, the APC, Senator Okpebholo, and Hon. Idahosa on the well-deserved victory in the just concluded governorship election in Edo State. I join millions of our party faithful in giving glory to God for granting us a peaceful victory to reclaim Edo back into the fold of the progressives where it rightly belongs.”
Aiyedatiwa thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his exemplary leadership, which he said ensured a free, fair, and peaceful election in Edo. He also praised the efforts of the APC’s national leadership, led by Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, and the campaign committees for their hard work in achieving the victory.
He commended the peaceful conduct of the Edo people throughout the election and expressed confidence in Senator Okpebholo’s vision to transform governance in the state through progressive policies and programs that will positively impact the lives of the people of Edo.
