Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State and the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Agboola Ajayi, have called on politicians and political parties in the state to prioritize peace in the upcoming November 16 governorship election.
In his address marking Nigeria’s 64th anniversary, Aiyedatiwa, who is the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasized the importance of civic responsibility as the election approaches. He stated, “Let me remind us of the need to be alive to our civic responsibility as we prepare for the November 16 Governorship Election in our dear state, which is a defining moment in our political history. We must all play by the rules and recommit ourselves to a peaceful and credible election.”
He assured citizens that his government is dedicated to their socioeconomic well-being, affirming, “There is no looking back. Our hands are firmly and steadily on the plough.”
Similarly, PDP candidate Ajayi urged the people of Ondo State to vote wisely in the upcoming election. In a statement, he encouraged citizens to elect a government that genuinely represents their interests, saying, “To the people of Ondo State, I urge you to exercise your franchise and elect a government that truly represents your interests. As we strive for a better tomorrow, I implore you to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and vigilant. Let us collectively raise our flag, embracing our diversity and promoting unity.”
