Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has warned that civil servants in the state could face negative repercussions if the opposition wins the upcoming governorship election. Speaking at a thank-you meeting with public servants in Benin, Obaseki emphasized the progress made in technology-driven operations within the state’s civil service under his administration.

Obaseki urged voters to make the right choice in the election to maintain the momentum of development. He criticized potential opposition leaders, claiming they lack the experience and ideas needed to lead effectively. He described them as unqualified and warned that their election could jeopardize the state’s progress.

Obaseki praised Asue Ighodalo, his preferred candidate, as a capable leader who would continue his work. He encouraged voters to protect their votes and ensure the ongoing development of Edo State.

Ighodalo, who was present at the meeting, acknowledged Obaseki’s achievements and vowed to build on his legacy. He urged the public to vote and defend their votes.

Anthony Okungbowa, the State Head of Service, expressed gratitude for the reforms made under Obaseki’s leadership and thanked the governor and Ighodalo for their commitment to the state’s progress.

Following the meeting, Obaseki inaugurated a new traffic light at the Third East/Sakponba Road Junction.
