Chief Oliver Okpala, Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed rumors that Ganduje is involved in a new attempt to dethrone Emir Muhammadu Sanusi of Kano.

An online report titled “Ganduje leads a fresh plot to dethrone Emir Muhammadu Sanusi” alleged that Ganduje, along with influential figures in Kano, was orchestrating the removal of Sanusi, the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor and current Emir of Kano.

Responding to these claims, Chief Okpala firmly rejected the allegations, stating that Ganduje has no involvement in any such plot. He emphasized that Ganduje is no longer the Governor of Kano State or the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, thus has no influence over the Emirship matters.

“It is categorically untrue that Dr. Ganduje is involved in the current or future enthronement or dethronement of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi,” Okpala asserted. He described the idea of Ganduje, who has been out of office for years, plotting against Sanusi or advising Alhaji Ado Bayero to abdicate as “preposterous and absurd.”

Okpala noted that Ganduje has moved on from his previous role and is now focused on national issues as the leader of the APC.
