Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has donated ₦100 million to the Borno State government to aid victims of the recent Alau Dam flood disaster. Atiku made the announcement on Sunday during a sympathy visit to Governor Babagana Zulum in Maiduguri.
During his visit, Atiku expressed condolences for those who lost their lives and wished for a speedy recovery for the injured and those who lost their property. He also called for additional support from organizations and philanthropists to assist the Borno government and its people in the recovery process.
Additionally, Atiku advocated for an investigation into the incident to implement measures that will prevent future disasters.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that delegations from Yobe and Gombe states also pledged ₦100 million each to support the flood relief efforts.
