The Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) has ordered the arrest of Wang Yilin, former Chairman of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), on suspicion of bribery. Wang’s case, which also involves his role as a former secretary of the CNPC’s leading Party members group, has been handed over to prosecutors for examination.

The SPP announced on Wednesday that Wang will be examined and prosecuted following an investigation conducted by the National Commission of Supervision. In late July, Wang was expelled from the Communist Party of China.
