There was a fire incident at the MTN booster station located within the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Ibadan. The fire, caused by an electrical surge, broke out early on Saturday, February 22, 2025. It affected key equipment such as the Mikano electrical generator, board, and other telecommunications gadgets.
The Oyo State Fire Service responded promptly, and firefighters from both the state and the university worked together to extinguish the blaze. The fire service confirmed the cause of the fire as an electrical surge and assured that the situation was handled effectively. Thankfully, the fire was brought under control without any major casualties or further complications.
