The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) FCT command aims to reduce road traffic crashes in the territory’s six area councils by 50% by 2030. At a town hall meeting in Abuja, Sector Commander Chorrie Muta’a emphasized major road safety issues like traffic congestion, speeding, and distracted driving. The event, themed “Road Safety: A Collective Responsibility,” highlighted the need for public awareness and collaboration.
Muta’a discussed various initiatives under the Nigeria Road Safety Strategy II (2021-2030), including campaigns, driver education, and the establishment of the FCT Road Safety Advisory Council. He urged all road users—drivers, pedestrians, and security agents—to prioritize safety and work together to foster responsible behaviors on the roads.
