The family of Olalekan Olawoye is urgently seeking assistance to find their loved one, who was abducted on October 5, 2023, along Ifon Ute Road in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Gbenga Olawoye, Olalekan’s brother, shared the family’s anguish with reporters at his home in Akure. He detailed the severe hardship and emotional strain the family has endured since Olalekan’s disappearance.

Initially, the kidnappers demanded a ransom and threatened harm if their demands were not met. However, after the first contact, communication was cut off, leaving the family with no information about Olalekan’s whereabouts.

The situation has deeply affected Olalekan’s wife and children, who are now living in fear and uncertainty without their primary provider. Despite seeking help from various prayer groups, churches, and traditional institutions, the family has received no assistance.

Gbenga Olawoye has called on the Nigeria Police, State Security Services, and Civil Defence Corps to step in and rescue his brother. The family is desperate for any updates or progress in the search for Olalekan.

This case underscores the increasing problem of insecurity in Nigeria, where kidnappings and ransom demands are becoming more prevalent. The Olawoye family’s plight highlights the severe emotional and social toll of these crimes on individuals and their communities.
