Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, a former Labour Party presidential aspirant, is demanding accountability and justice following the catastrophic Borno flood disaster in Northern Nigeria.
Joseph asserts that the tragedy stems from human negligence and corrupt inaction, urging that those responsible be held accountable. In an open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Joseph expressed deep concern about the nation’s state of law and order, criticizing the selective application of laws where the powerful escape punishment while the ordinary suffer.
He cited instances of a former governor evading arrest despite serious allegations of financial misconduct and a suspended minister who has yet to face trial for alleged wrongdoing. Joseph believes that the lack of accountability is at the heart of Nigeria’s issues and urged the president to address this issue decisively.
Joseph concluded by calling on leaders to improve governance, emphasizing that Nigeria has significant potential for success if its challenges are effectively addressed.
