The Football Association (FA) has officially overturned Bruno Fernandes’ three-match ban following Manchester United’s successful appeal against the red card issued to the midfielder during their recent match against Tottenham Hotspur.
Fernandes received the red card just before halftime for a challenge on James Maddison, which, upon review, appeared to be minimal and unintentional, as he had lost his footing during the play. Manchester United contested the VAR decision and presented their case to the FA, arguing that the dismissal was unjust.
In a club statement, Manchester United confirmed that Fernandes would be available for their next three matches: against Aston Villa, Brentford, and West Ham. The FA’s decision means that Fernandes will not face any suspension, allowing him to contribute to his team’s efforts in these crucial fixtures.
