The #EndBadGovernance Movement in Lagos State has accused President Bola Tinubu of further punishing Nigerians through the recent petrol price hike, calling it a “provocative” act that exacerbates the suffering of the poor. The movement, led by Coordinator Hassan Taiwo (“Soweto”), Osugba Blessing, and Oloye Adegboyega-Adeniji, expressed outrage over the increase, stating it will worsen the state of hunger and hardship for workers, artisans, and the general populace.
The group demands the reversal of petrol prices, electricity tariffs, and food costs to pre-May 29, 2023 levels and urges the public, along with civil society and labour groups, to mobilize for protests and strikes to oppose the government’s anti-poor policies.
