EFCC WARNS COMEDIANS AGAINST UNAUTHORIZED USE OF UNIFORMS

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a renewed warning to comedians and skit makers regarding the unauthorized use of its uniforms and operational equipment in their productions. This statement follows the resurfacing of an old video titled “EFCC and Army Wahala,” which the agency claims misrepresents its operatives.

In a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the EFCC emphasized that any unauthorized usage of its uniforms would result in strict penalties. The commission condemned the portrayal of its officers in the video, stating that it reflects a “shameful characterization” that undermines the EFCC’s image.

The EFCC’s statement highlighted that its operatives are not bullies, but trained law enforcement professionals who uphold decency and respect, even towards individuals suspected of economic and financial crimes. The agency reiterated its demand for skit makers and others in the entertainment industry to refrain from the irresponsible and illegal use of its operational gear, reinforcing that such actions are detrimental to the commission’s reputation
