The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced an investigation into Solomon Yohana, who was arrested for allegedly impersonating an EFCC staff member. The suspect was apprehended on August 19 by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State and later handed over to the EFCC’s Gombe Zonal Directorate for further investigation.
EFCC Spokesperson Dele Oyewale, in a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja, confirmed the arrest and ongoing investigation. Items recovered from the suspect at the time of arrest included a fake EFCC ID card, fake EFCC letterheads, a fake EFCC polo shirt, and a fake Special Control Unit against Money Laundering (SCUML) shirt.
The EFCC has stated that Yohana will be charged to court once the investigation is concluded.
