Voters in Edo State have been encouraged to carefully evaluate the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate before making their choice in the upcoming governorship election.
The Movement for Democracy issued a call on Thursday, August 1, urging Edo State voters to dismiss the APC or face the possibility of hunger-related protests. The statement, made by Osaze Samuel, the group’s convener, highlighted the severe economic hardships and widespread hunger affecting millions of Nigerians as evidence of the APC’s ineffective governance.
Samuel argued that the hunger protests seen across Nigeria are indicative of deeper systemic issues under APC leadership. He emphasized the party’s ongoing failure to address critical needs and manage the economy properly.
“The hunger protests are not isolated incidents but reflect the systemic failures of APC’s rule,” Samuel stated.
He urged Edo State residents to scrutinize the APC’s track record and the qualifications of its candidate carefully. Samuel stressed that the ongoing economic crisis and hunger protests are signs of President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s shortcomings.
“It is essential for voters in Edo State to choose candidates who are committed to tackling these problems and improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians,” Samuel added.
The statement concluded with a strong recommendation for Edo State citizens to reject the APC, describing it as a party associated with suffering and hardship.
