DRUMMING PROHIBITED IN AKURE DURING DEJI’S ANNUAL LEAVE

The Deji’s palace in Akure, Ondo State, has announced a prohibition on drumming in Akure for seven days in observance of the annual leave of Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, the Deji of Akure.

This announcement was made by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deji of Akure, Mr. Michael Adeyeye, on Tuesday. The leave is set to last from Tuesday, September 24, until Monday, September 30.

During this period, the royal father will engage in prayers for peace, prosperity, and progress for Akure Kingdom, Ondo State, and the country as a whole.

The statement emphasized that drumming in any form is prohibited, and the road leading to Deji’s Palace will be closed to commuters. Residents are advised to use alternative routes during this time.

Additionally, in accordance with Akure customs and traditions, a portion of the Oja Oba market will also be closed for the Ulefunta period. Residents are encouraged to adhere to these directives while going about their lawful activities and to pray for the welfare of the land.
