Hon. Alhassan Doguwa, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), has addressed comments made by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the 2023 general election. Kwankwaso suggested that Nigerians, particularly Northerners, are ready to vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
Doguwa, representing Tudun Wada/Doguwa Federal Constituency in Kano State, dismissed Kwankwaso’s statement as a product of delusion, attributing it to Kwankwaso’s inability to cope with his electoral defeat by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He advised Kwankwaso to focus on his political future rather than fantasizing about the 2027 elections.
In his response, Doguwa praised President Tinubu’s administration for its efforts to revitalize the economy, noting that significant foreign investments have been attracted since he took office. He highlighted that President Tinubu has made substantial fiscal adjustments, reduced the debt service ratio, and is working towards creating more jobs and economic stability.
