Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola clashed with Raheem Sterling while he was at the Premier League club in 2021.
This was disclosed by author Marti Perarnau, a confidant of Guardiola, in his new book ‘The Pep Revolution’.
According to him, both men had a bust-up in March 2021 in Guardiola’s office, before Sterling walked out of the conversation.
This led to Guardiola dropping him altogether from City’s squad for a clash against Fulham.
It all began after Sterling was benched for a 5-2 win over Southampton. The England international had been offended by Guardiola’s decision and had begun acting up.
Perarnau has also claimed that part of Sterling’s frustrations was down to Guardiola’s constant praise of Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva, who had been in top form for the club.
The two will face each other once again on Sunday, August 18 at Stamford Bridge in an attempt to gather their first points of the season.
