Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has encouraged Nigerians to remain optimistic despite the current economic difficulties facing the nation.

Speaking at an inter-denominational thanksgiving service on Sunday at the Cathedral Church of St. Peters in Asaba, held to mark Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary, he emphasized that tough times don’t last, but tough people do, and urged citizens to effectively overcome the challenges they face.

Governor Oborevwori paid tribute to the country’s founding fathers and called for unity and hope, asserting that a new phase of prosperity, peace, and progress is on the horizon.

He acknowledged the widespread hunger and despair due to rising living costs and inflation, noting the pain and suffering many are experiencing due to ongoing fiscal and economic reforms.

“However, these challenges will pass,” he stated. “Every problem has an expiry date, and this will not be an exception. I urge Deltans and residents to refuse to give up. The situation calls for creativity, innovation, determination, patience, and resilience from both leaders and citizens. These qualities are essential to navigate this turbulent economy and overcome our challenges.”
