DEFENCE MINISTER DONATES ₦20M TO JIGAWA GOVERNMENT TO SUPPORT FLOOD DISASTER VICTIMS

The Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru, has donated ₦20 million to the Jigawa Government to aid in relief efforts for residents affected by the recent flood disaster. The donation was made during Badaru’s visit to Jigawa, where he met with Governor Umar Namadi to express his condolences for the lives and properties lost due to the severe flooding.

According to a statement by Henshaw Ogubike, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Defence, Badaru expressed his deep sympathy for the devastating impact of the floods, which also resulted in the destruction of farmlands across the state.

The Defence Minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting Jigawa during this challenging time and explained that his donation was a gesture of solidarity and compassion. He also commended Governor Namadi for his prompt and effective response in providing relief to the flood victims, praising the governor’s efforts to mitigate the crisis.
