On August 21, 2024, Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ tour reached a high point with a sold-out concert at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The event, marking the second date of the tour, featured a dynamic performance of Asake’s hit singles from his recently released third album, Lungu Boy.
The concert was graced by several prominent figures, including Grammy-nominated Afrobeats superstar Davido, hitmaker Zlatan, and American rappers Russ and Quavo.
Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ tour will cover six US cities, with upcoming performances at notable venues such as the Toyota Center in Houston and Madison Square Garden in New York.
The release of Lungu Boy has been a major success, setting a new record for the biggest opening week on Spotify Nigeria with 18.9 million streams, surpassing Davido’s previous record of 14.4 million streams with Timeless. The album also achieved the biggest opening day global streams for a Nigerian album on Spotify with 9.2 million streams. Additionally, the track “MMS” broke records on Spotify Nigeria with 870,577 streams on its first day, exceeding the previous record held by Wizkid’s “IDK” featuring Zlatan.
