Nigerian music superstar Davido has announced an upcoming single with the renowned five-time Grammy winner Angélique Kidjo.
On August 26, 2024, Davido revealed via his X (formerly Twitter) account that the new track, titled “Joy,” featuring Kidjo, is set to be released on August 30, 2024. The release date coincides with the Grammy entry deadline for 2024, fueling speculation that Davido aims to enhance his Grammy prospects with this collaboration.
Davido previously made waves at the 2023 Grammys with nominations for Best Global Album for his fourth album ‘Timeless’, Best Global Song Performance for ‘Feel’, and Best African Song Performance for ‘Unavailable’ featuring Musa Keys. Although he did not win, these nominations marked significant progress for the artist.
Angélique Kidjo, a celebrated figure in global music with 14 Grammy nominations, is expected to bring her extensive experience and acclaim to the project.
