Barcelona forward Dani Olmo has been diagnosed with a right hamstring injury following a substitution in Sunday’s 4-1 La Liga victory over Girona.
According to a statement from Barcelona, “Tests conducted this Monday morning revealed that Dani Olmo has injured his right hamstring. He is expected to be out for the next four to five weeks.”
Olmo will miss Barcelona’s opening Champions League matches against Monaco and Young Boys, as well as several La Liga fixtures. Additionally, he will be sidelined for Spain’s Nations League matches against Denmark and Serbia in early October.
The 26-year-old, who joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig this summer, has scored three goals in three matches for his new club. He may potentially return for Barcelona’s clash with Bayern Munich on October 23 and the Clasico against Real Madrid on October 27.
