Oghenekaro Edor, a prominent leader and advocate for good governance in the Niger Delta, has expressed profound shock and sorrow over the recent death of Ms. Fatima Kyari, the daughter of Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL). Ms. Kyari reportedly passed away at the young age of 25.
In a heartfelt condolence message sent to Vanguard on Monday, Edor emphasized the immense pain of losing a loved one, particularly someone as young and promising as Fatima. He offered his sympathies to the Kyari family, urging them to find comfort in their faith and to believe that she is now at peace in the presence of Almighty Allah.
Edor described Fatima’s passing as “heart-wrenching” and an “irreparable loss,” acknowledging the challenges the bereaved family faces in coping with such a significant tragedy. He noted that for a young individual with a bright future to be taken so early is a reminder of the fragility of life, urging the family to seek solace in their faith and the authority of the Almighty, stating, “No mortal has the power to challenge the will of Allah.”
“My heartfelt condolence goes to the Kyaris,” Edor stated. “One can only imagine the pain of losing a child with a very promising future at such a young age. We can only accept the painful incidents as the will of the Almighty Allah, who alone has the power to give and take life. We have to be comforted by the fact that death is the ultimate end of every mortal.”
Edor concluded his message with prayers for Ms. Fatima, asking that she be granted Aljanna Fidaus (Paradise) and that her family be granted the strength to endure their loss. He commended Engr. Kyari for his unwavering faith and dedication to Nigeria throughout his public service and called on all Nigerians to remember the Kyari family in their prayers during this difficult time
