“Opposition Parties Converge in Kaduna, Vow to Tackle APC Ahead of 2027 Elections”

In a significant political move, six opposition parties joined forces in Kaduna State to strategize against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Hosted by the African Democratic Congress under the theme ‘Solid political party structure critical to the sustainability of the democratic process,’ the summit drew attention to the challenges facing Nigeria and the urgent need for solutions.

Led by Lawal Nalado, the summit chairman, participants emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilization and political enlightenment to counter the prevailing hardship and foster societal upliftment. The summit aimed to address issues such as inadequate resources, lack of internal democracy, and interference by the ruling party, as highlighted by Falalu Bello, the National Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP).

Ahmed Tujjani, representing the ADC and IPAC Kaduna State, clarified that the gathering was not intended for immediate merger or coalition formation but rather to identify and address common problems facing opposition parties. The outcome of the summit, to be presented in a communique, is expected to serve as a roadmap for overcoming challenges and shaping strategies leading up to the 2027 elections.
