Over 50 clerics from the Ijaw nation and beyond gathered in Oporoza town, Gbaramatu Kingdom, in Delta State’s Warri South-West Local Government Area, for a 3-day revival program aimed at breaking the stronghold of darkness and underdevelopment in the region. The revival, named the 6th Edition of Gbaramatu 2024 Prayer Day, focused on igniting the gospel of Jesus Christ across Gbaramatu’s towns and villages.

Pastor Samuel Ukuli of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, who also chairs the Gbaramatu Interdenominational Christian Fellowship, emphasized that the prayer campaign is already yielding results, stating, “The wind of the Holy Ghost is blowing already.” He noted that a spiritual transformation was underway, and the revival aimed to liberate the Gbaramatu Kingdom from ungodly practices and stagnation, thereby attracting divine blessings.

The event was supported by the local clergy and the Royal Father of Gbaramatu Kingdom, HRM Oboro Gbaraun II, Aketekpe Agadagba, who endorsed the vision and has actively participated in the planning of the annual prayer program since its inception in 2017. Pastor Felix Famutua, Publicity Secretary of the Gbaramatu Interdenominational Christian Fellowship, recounted how the prayer initiative was inspired by a similar program held in Egbema Kingdom and was embraced by the clerics of Gbaramatu.

Guest speaker, Bishop Godswyn Soroaye of Covenant Ark of Safety Inc, urged the congregation to seek true repentance and abandon ungodly practices, emphasizing that spiritual revival and fervent prayers would bring blessings and development to Gbaramatu land. He proclaimed that only the gospel of Christ could lead to internal freedom, breaking the chains of satanic influence over people’s lives.

This prayer initiative is seen as a powerful spiritual movement aimed at uplifting the kingdom and attracting progress to the community. The event, held annually on October 13, is now a significant part of Gbaramatu’s spiritual and cultural calendar.
