CHRISLAND UNIVERSITY TO HOLD 6TH CONVOCATION CEREMONY FROM OCTOBER 27 TO 31, 2024

Chrisland University is gearing up for its 6th Convocation Ceremony, scheduled from Sunday, October 27, to Thursday, October 31, 2024. This five-day event will celebrate the achievements of graduating students, honor the university’s leadership, and foster a sense of community through various spiritual and academic activities.

The festivities will commence on Sunday, October 27, with an Evening of Praise and Worship at the University Auditorium, starting at 6:00 PM. Professor Omolaja Osoniyi, Chairman of the Ceremonies and Honours Committee, stated that the program is designed to unite students, staff, and guests for a time of spiritual reflection and celebration, featuring choir performances, prayer sessions, and special musical presentations.

The formal convocation events will kick off on Monday, October 28, with the induction of Chrisland University’s first set of Nursing Graduands at the University Auditorium. Following the induction, a Convocation Play and a Graduands Dinner will take place at 4:00 PM, providing a more relaxed setting for attendees to celebrate.

On Tuesday, October 29, the main convocation day will feature a Convocation Lecture, Awards, and Prizes. The lecture, titled “Nigeria: Strategies for a National Rebirth, with Special Reference to a Triple Helix Innovation,” will be delivered by Engr. Umar Bubar. This event will also include the Award of First Degrees and the Presentation of Prizes, recognizing the academic excellence and hard work of the graduates.

Wednesday, October 30, will be dedicated to honoring the university’s former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola, for her exceptional service and leadership from 2017 to 2024. A special valedictory program will highlight her tenure, which has been characterized by strategic growth, academic excellence, and a commitment to holistic development.

Professor Ebenezer Olatunde Farombi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, remarked on Professor Babalola’s significant contributions, stating, “Her leadership has been characterized by strategic growth, academic excellence, and a commitment to the holistic development of the university community. We are proud to celebrate her contributions and thank her for the remarkable legacy she has built.”

The event is anticipated to attract university officials, students, and notable guests from various sectors, culminating in a celebration of the university’s achievements and future aspirations.
