CHELSEA BOSS ENZO MARESCA OPTIMISTIC AHEAD OF LIVERPOOL CLASH, DOWNPLAYS SIGNIFICANCE

Enzo Maresca, the head coach of Chelsea, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s strong start under his leadership but emphasized that Sunday’s match against Liverpool will not “define where we are.” Chelsea, currently in fourth place and unbeaten in their last seven games across all competitions, are just four points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Despite facing the formidable challenge of Anfield, where Liverpool’s manager Arne Slot has overseen an impressive start, Maresca remains focused on the bigger picture. He acknowledged Chelsea’s progress, stating, “Very happy because what I expected in terms of players and level and style, I can see clearly that is there.”

Maresca, who joined from Leicester, also praised the club, calling it “one of the best clubs in the world,” and expressed his excitement to be working with his current squad.

While a win against Liverpool would send a strong message about Chelsea’s ambitions this season, Maresca stressed that the result will not define the team’s trajectory: “It’s not this game that is going to define where we are — if we win, we solve all the problems, and in case we lose? No. It’s just a process, it’s just a game.”

The Italian is preparing Chelsea for a series of tough fixtures, with matches against Newcastle, Manchester United, and Arsenal on the horizon.
