Burna Boy has achieved yet another milestone in his illustrious career by setting a new record for the highest-grossing concert by an African artist in the United States. Following the release of his 2023 album ‘I Told Them,’ Burna Boy embarked on a global tour that included sold-out performances across America, Europe, and the Caribbean.

According to Touring Data’s announcement on June 13, 2024, Burna Boy grossed an impressive $1.725 million during his ‘I Told Them’ tour at the Capital One Arena in Washington on March 7, 2024. This achievement surpasses his previous African record set at the TD Garden in Boston.

Burna Boy’s latest feat underscores his status as a global African icon, continually setting new benchmarks in the music industry. Earlier in 2024, he made history by becoming the first African artist to perform at the Grammy main ceremony and was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance. Additionally, Burna Boy’s collaboration on the remix of Titom & Yuppe’s ‘Twala Bam’ became the first South African lead song to top the TurnTable Top 100 chart.

With these accomplishments, Burna Boy continues to elevate African music on the world stage, solidifying his position as a trailblazer and innovator in the industry.
