BURGER KING NIGERIA EXPANDS WITH NEW STORE AT MMA2

In a major milestone for its expansion, Burger King Nigeria has inaugurated its 16th store at Muritala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) in Ikeja, Lagos.

Grand Opening Event
The opening ceremony was a grand affair, featuring a ribbon-cutting, a kitchen tour, and a lucky dip where a guest won a free return flight courtesy of Ibom Air. The event highlighted Burger King’s dedication to transforming the quick-service restaurant industry in Nigeria.

Commitment to Growth
Rushdi Ibrahim, Managing Director and CEO of Allied Foods and Confectionery Services Limited, the operators of Burger King in Nigeria, expressed pride in the rapid growth, stating, “We’ve opened 16 restaurants in just 33 months – one every two months. This demonstrates our team’s dedication and the Nigerian market’s acceptance of our brand.”

Strategic Location
The choice of MMA2 for the new location was strategic. Ibrahim noted, “Nigeria is full of opportunities, and MMA2, being a key airport, is ideal for offering our exceptional dining experience to a diverse passenger base.”

Local Adaptation
Burger King has tailored its menu to local tastes with offerings like yam fries, plantain, and potato cubes, while maintaining its core brand identity. The brand aims to balance innovation with its well-known essence, ensuring high-quality, flavorful food for its customers.

Future Plans
Looking ahead, Ibrahim emphasized a focus on customer convenience and quality. “We aim to be where our customers want us, whether in busy cities or strategic locations like airports.”

Support from Lagos State
Hon Adewale Temitope OON (JP), a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, praised Burger King’s presence at MMA2 as a testament to Lagos State’s commitment to supporting businesses and creating a thriving business environment despite economic challenges.

Partnership with Ibom Air
The collaboration between Burger King and Ibom Air marks a significant partnership. Aniekan Essienette, Group Manager of Marketing and Communication at Ibom Air, highlighted the partnership’s value and its alignment with Ibom Air’s mission to enhance customer experiences. The partnership allows both brands to leverage each other’s platforms for marketing and brand visibility.

Promotion and Customer Engagement
Burger King has launched a promotion in collaboration with Ibom Air, offering customers who spend over 7,000 Naira a chance to win a domestic return ticket and other prizes. The promotion runs for four weeks, and one lucky winner has already redeemed a free return ticket.
