Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has praised the Nigerian Military for their rapid response to the recent floods in the state, which helped prevent further loss of life. His remarks were made during a meeting with Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, at the Government House in Maiduguri.

Governor Zulum expressed sincere gratitude for the military’s rescue efforts and their compassion towards the affected communities, emphasizing that the situation could have been much worse without their intervention. He also provided General Musa with an update on the state’s security status, noting a decrease in insecurity by over 90% and the gradual return of peace to Borno.

Additionally, Zulum extended his thanks to President Bola Tinubu for supporting the military’s efforts during this challenging time. The meeting follows significant flooding that displaced many residents, particularly impacting women and children in the region, and the military’s timely response has been crucial in alleviating the disaster’s effects.
