Bizzy E, born Ozoemelam Excel, has grown up with deep roots in Nigerian music history, shaped by the highlife and juju eras, as well as influences from icons like Chief Ebenezer Obey, Bobby Benson, Victor Olaiya, Fela Kuti, and King Sunny Ade. Growing up listening to such legends, Bizzy E’s love for music was cultivated early, especially during his time in the church choir, where he learned to play the piano at 13.
Despite his passion for music, Bizzy E’s journey wasn’t linear. Initially forced to study medicine due to Nigeria’s highly competitive university system, he later moved to Ukraine for his medical studies. It was in Ukraine that his love for music deepened, influenced by his interactions with music producers and his growing curiosity about music production.
Bizzy E’s philosophy is clear: to create his own unique sound, blending Afrobeat influences with rap and melodic tunes, while connecting deeply with his audience. His debut single, “LV Bag,” released in August, sets the stage for his forthcoming album *Mi2Me*, scheduled for release on October 25, 2024. Through his music, Bizzy E aims to carve out a distinct space for himself, promising listeners a fresh perspective that may take time to understand but is bound to resonate over time.
