Benue LG elections: APC announces sales of expression of interest forms

Ahead of the forthcoming local government elections in Benue State, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state has announced the commencement of sales of Expression of Interest Forms for members seeking election into the offices of local government chairmen and councilors.

This was contained in a statement issued in Makurdi on Monday by the Publicity Secretary, Mr Daniel Ihonmu.

The party urged interested members to obtain the Expression of Interest Forms from the State Secretariat of the party

According to the statement, “Chairmanship aspirants are to pay a non-refundable fee of N100,000 for Expression of Interest Form and 200,000 for Nomination form, while Councilorship aspirants are to pay N50,000 for Expression of Interest form and N100,000 for Nomination form.

“It must be noted that the expression of interest form for women for both offices is free.”

Dan Ihomu added that “Where applicable, interested aspirants must pay a non-refundable fee into the party’s account: Zenith Bank account number: 122309580 in favour of APC Benue State chapter

“Upon payment of the stated amount, aspirants are to contact the State Financial Secretary for cash receipt and clearance at No. 75 JS Tarka Way, Makurdi, Benue State.”

DAILY POST recall that the Benue APC is in a lingering crisis that has led to formation of parralel Exco of the party in the state.

One of the factions loyal to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume, is led by Comrade Austin Agada.

While the one loyal to the Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, is led by Mr Benjamin Omakolo.

As a result of the festering cisis in the Benue state APC, the state secretariat of the parry in Makurdi has been sealed by security agencies.
