The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Austin Agada, has announced the nomination of 23 chairmanship and 276 councillorship candidates for the upcoming Local Government elections on October 5, 2024.
The nomination process, conducted on August 24, 2024, took place across all wards in the state’s 23 local government areas. The primaries were primarily carried out through consensus and affirmation, ensuring a smooth and peaceful process.
APC state chairman’s media office reported that the primaries were conducted with a high degree of unity and dedication among party members. Notable candidates include:
- Hon. Elias Arugwu Ogbu for Ado
- Hon. Tarkaa Solomon for Konshisha
- Hon. Chia Bernard Terna for Vandeikya
In various local governments, such as Tarka and Katsina-Ala, party members and stakeholders praised the orderly and peaceful nature of the nominations. The successful completion of the primaries reflects the party’s commitment to democratic values and effective management.
