Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has sharply criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, attributing Nigeria’s economic challenges to what he describes as a “haphazard and disingenuous” approach to fuel subsidy management.

In a recent post on X, Abubakar expressed grave concerns over the impact of the administration’s subsidy policy on the nation’s economic stability. He identified the current fuel subsidy strategy as a significant factor driving inflation, which he claims is severely affecting the quality of life for Nigerians.

“The haphazard and disingenuous approach of the current administration to fuel subsidy management has been the reason we are in this current economic crisis in the country,” Abubakar stated, emphasizing his dissatisfaction with Tinubu’s process of removing the subsidy.

He warned that without a more effective strategy, inflation is likely to continue, further burdening the daily lives of citizens. Abubakar’s comments reflect ongoing frustrations with the government’s handling of economic issues as many Nigerians grapple with rising costs.
