Since breaking into the mainstream, Asake has quickly ascended to superstar status, propelled by his hit singles and successful albums. Recently, he released his third album, Lungu Boy, and hosted a listening party in London, attended by celebrities, media, and notable figures like Nigerian Grammy-winning artist Wizkid, who is featured on the album.
One of the standout tracks from Lungu Boy, titled “MMS” featuring Wizkid, has become a fan favorite, dominating the TurnTable Top 100 for multiple weeks. The duo was also spotted filming a music video for the track on the streets of London.
Asake is currently on his Lungu Boy tour, selling out prestigious venues across the United States, including TD Garden, Capital One Arena, and Madison Square Garden. His next stop is London’s O2 Arena, where he will join fellow Nigerian stars Wizkid and Davido as artists who have headlined the venue more than once.
Fans eagerly await Asake’s O2 concert, hoping for a live performance of “MMS” alongside Wizkid. Lungu Boy solidifies Asake’s rapid rise, which began with the release of his Ololade Asake EP in January 2022. Known for his unique blend of Afrobeats, Amapiano, Fuji, and Hip Hop, Asake has quickly become one of the genre’s most prolific hitmakers.
