Asake’s third studio album, Lungu Boy, has achieved remarkable success shortly after its release on August 9, 2024, by reaching No. 2 on the US Apple Music chart. This accomplishment ties the record for the highest-charting Nigerian album on the platform, a feat previously held by Burna Boy’s I Told Them and Davido’s Timeless.

Lungu Boy also reached No. 1 on the UK Apple Music chart, marking Asake’s third consecutive album to achieve this milestone, following his earlier releases Mr. Money With The Vibe and Work of Art. The album includes collaborations with a diverse lineup of international superstars, such as Wizkid, Central Cee, Stormzy, Travis Scott, and Brazilian singer Ludmila.

This success precedes Asake’s highly anticipated Lungu Boy tour, which will feature performances at prestigious venues like the O2 Arena and Madison Square Garden, making him only the fourth Nigerian artist to headline the iconic New York venue.

Asake’s rapid rise to fame has solidified his status as an era-defining Afrobeats superstar. His debut album, Mr. Money With The Vibe, won Album of the Year at the 2023 Headies Awards, and his sophomore effort, Work of Art, produced the record-setting hit single “Lonely At The Top.” Lungu Boy continues his impressive streak, further cementing his influence on the global music scene
